Creating Sacred Altar Space with Painting
In this two day painting workshop we will get in touch with our god/goddess/deity or essence that is calling to come to light and bring it into form!
You will walk away with a personal altar box created as a container to honor and activate this force within you, bringing the sacred back home into your personal space.
In this workshop we will:
- Use guided shamanic journey work to witness and activate creativity and clarity.
- Dive into painting with some basic technique support and light hearted play with color and form.
- Learn what sacred space is and how to cross the threshold into the creative process.
- Decorate the frame/alter box form with found art/mixed media
The skeleton of the altar box will be provided, as well as many materials including paint, gold leaf, fabric, etc. Your own found materials are welcome too!
No prior art experience needed, just an openness to let it flow.

Room description
1 to 3 month Residences in the heart of the Temple!
The Paonia School of Magick is offering one-to-three-month residencies during the months of March, April, and May in collaboration with Elsewhere Studios Residency program. During this period the Elsewhere building becomes the Temple to the Muse, with classroom space on the lower level.
The residencies are open to artists of all genres with a metaphysical, spiritual, or nature focus.
The residencies provide intimate focused time with living and studio space in a rich and creative community. Residents are invited (but not required) to participate in School of Magick courses that will take place in the ‘So Below’ classroom.
Artists in residence get 30% off of all classes and workshops!
